One Volley Set the World on Fire
The volley fired by a young Virginian in the backwoods of America set the world on fire.
Horace Walpole
A skirmish in the Pennsylvania wilderness pulled every power in Europe into the first truly global war. Flintlock! puts both halves of it on your table — two tug-of-war skirmishes you can play separately, together, or alone.
Four Ways to Battle
The French & Indian War
Who will win control of North America? Two players battle across the eastern reaches of the United States and Canada, alongside Native American allies.
Gameplay
- Break through your opponent’s forts
- Vie for alliance with the native forces
- Battle your way through to Montreal for a decisive victory
The Seven Years War
Take the battle across the seas! Recruit Russian and Shipping Company support in skirmishes across Europe, India, and the Atlantic.
Gameplay
- Battle for control of the Atlantic trade routes with hidden unit placement
- Contest the Russian and Company alliances
- Attack your opponent’s strategic supply and overwhelm their defence
18th Century Global War
Engage in all-out global war! Combine both boards in a two vs. two team-based battle for control of the known world.
Gameplay
- Fight both wars at once across two linked boards
- Share one Strategic Supply with your teammate
- Win together — both partners need 20 victory points
Automatous Warfare Engine
Take on automated opponent armies across both conflicts in a challenging solo mode.
Gameplay
- Command the French while the engine plays the British
- Roll to advance the stratagem marker and set the AI’s priorities
- Take on either war solo, each with its own AI player mat

The Ironworks Edition
The same two wars, rebuilt in wood and metal. A deeper, foil-stamped box houses painted wooden unit tokens, machined metal markers and dice, and three storage tins to keep every army in its place.
Painted Wooden Units
All 72 unit tokens and 52 flag tokens are 20mm painted wood, UV-printed and edge-painted by side — not punchboard.
Metal Markers & Die
A milled 16mm metal d6, solid metal cube markers, and a metal stratagem cog replace the acrylic die, wooden cubes and punched marker.
Three Storage Tins
Hinged metal tins in the Ironworks livery — French & Indian War, Seven Years War, and a Supply Chest — to sort and carry each force between games.
Foil-Stamped Box & Boards
A deeper telescoping box with a foil-stamped lid, foil-surfaced gameboards, and player screens and solo mats on rigid 1.5mm board.
